Cherilyn Sarkisian LaPierre (El Centro, Califórnia, 20 de maio de 1946) é uma cantora, atriz, produtora, diretora, escritora, compositora e apresentadora estadunidense. Entre as várias realizações em sua carreira musical, cinematográfica e televisiva, Cher, como é conhecida artisticamente, foi vencedora de um Emmy, um Grammy, três Globos de Ouro e um Oscar.
Cher começou a sua carreira em 1964, integrando ao lado do então marido a dupla Sonny & Cher. Na década de 1970 estabeleceu-se como cantora solo, lançando aproximadamente 50 álbuns, entre compilações e trabalhos inéditos, e 96 singles. Estes incluem 34 no top 40 da Billboard, 18 no top 10 e 5 canções número 1. No Reino Unido, Cher emplacou 16 hits no top 10 - quatro destes atingiram a primeira posição.
Ela se tornou apresentadora no início da década de 1970, quando estrelou, ao lado de Sonny Bono, o humorístico The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour. Mais tarde, na década de 1980, voltou-se para o cinema. Em 1987, ganhou o Oscar de Melhor Atriz por sua atuação em Moonstruck (Feitiço da Lua).
Em seus 44 anos de carreira, Cher é um ícone pop consagrado e uma das mais populares artistas do sexo feminino da história da música. Vendeu, aproximadamente, 200 milhões de álbuns solo e 75 milhões com a dupla Sonny & Cher, sendo uma das cantoras mais bem-sucedidas do mercado fonográfico mundial.
